This project will transform how we care for animals in Boston. It is a significant opportunity for our historic 125-year-old organization to provide over 20,000 animals per year with the highest standards of care to help them heal and thrive, advance pet health and well-being through exceptional veterinary care and dog training, keep people and pets together, and improve the lives of animals.
ARL plans to create a 3-story, approximately 30,000sqft state-of-the-art facility complete with a veterinary hospital, animal care, and adoption center, dog training courses, and space to host community events. ARL will reinvest its resources into the historic South End neighborhood – a central location, which makes our critical programs and services more accessible to the animals and people who need us most, especially in the neighborhoods that face barriers, including Dorchester, Roxbury, Mattapan, Hyde Park, and East Boston.
